General and Outlaw Unite to Benefit Warriors Project, Mar. 21

Kansas City, Missouri (PRWEB) March 8, 2009 -- The General and the Outlaw will join forces on Saturday, March 21 in the Ride for the Warriors, a benefit motorcycle ride to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Museum of the Kansas National Guard. Maj. Gen. Tod M. Bunting, the Adjutant General of Kansas, is leading the event which is sponsored by the Outlaw Cigar Company of Kansas City, Missouri.

Gen. Bunting will ride from the museum at 6700 Southwest Topeka Boulevard in Topeka, Kansas to the Outlaw store at 6234 N. Chatham Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas beginning at 11:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served at the museum from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A second leg will ride from the American Legion Post 370 at 7500 West 75th St. in Overland Park, Kansas to the Outlaw store starting at 11:30 a.m. with breakfast available from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Another group will ride to the Outlaw store from Blue Springs Harley Davidson at 3100 Northwest Jefferson Street, in Blue Springs, Missouri beginning at 12:30 p.m. Staging area opens at 11:00 a.m. The Blue Springs contingent will be led by the Patriot Guard, a group of distinguished ex-military personnel.

The fourth leg, also headed to the Outlaw store, will stage at 11:00 a.m. and depart at 12:30 p.m. from the National Guard Armory at 2 Sherman Avenue in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Riders and their guests on a total of some 500 motorcycles are expected to participate in the fundraiser for which Gen. Bunting also arranged to have a Chinook helicopter flown in to the Outlaw where the event will include a special presentation beginning at 2:00 p.m.

For $20 per person, each contributor will be able to participate in the ride and receive food, and a free cigar, compliments of Kendall Culbertson, owner of the Outlaw Cigar Company and member the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association. Premium cigar magnate Rocky Patel will be appearing at the Outlaw from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Special deals on a variety of hand-made premium cigars will be available throughout the day along with major raffles plus food and drinks.

The Wounded Warrior Project is one of the many charities supported by Culbertson and his store. WWP is a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower severely wounded servicemen and servicewomen of the United States armed forces.
